
Delhi Khel Mahakumbh is a flagship initiative of the Government of Delhi, envisioned to promote a strong
sporting culture and identify grassroots talent across the capital. Commencing 29th January 2026, this
large-scale multi-sport event provides a professionally structured and inclusive platform for young athletes
and sports enthusiasts to compete and excel.
Rooted in the values of fitness, discipline, teamwork, and fair play, Khel Mahakumbh places special focus on
youth development, women’s participation, and equal opportunities for all. More than a tournament, it is a
movement to empower communities, nurture future champions, and build a healthier, sport-driven
Delhi.
The large-scale multi-sport event will have the following categories of games for youth to shine and
showcase their talent.

Athletics is a core sport that includes a variety of competitive events such as running, jumping, and throwing. It tests an athlete’s speed, strength, endurance, agility, and overall fitness. Popular events include sprints, middle- and long-distance races, relays, hurdles, long jump, high jump, shot put, discus, javelin, and hammer throw.
